There are still some bugs, so if you have any difficulty in using the catalogue, please send let me know by email to burstein@utk.edu. We’ll do what we can to remedy them. Here are a few tips about how to proceed:
You will note on the left hand side of the page a column entitled “All Authors.” It is arranged alphabetically, and if you know the author’s name, you can scroll down through it. Highlighting the author’s name with a left click of your mouse should bring up a list of all the books on our shelves by that author. If it does not, check the upper right hand corner of the page. The search box should be empty, and no “x” should appear. If that is not the case, click on the “x” to remove it and delete the material in the box. Go back to the author’s name in the left column and click on it once again.
If you wish to search by title rather than author, make sure the “All Authors” entry in the left hand column is highlighted. Enter a few words from the title in the empty search box in the upper right and left click on “Search.” All titles by any author including those words will be listed.
Good Hunting! And while you are at it check the book case below the window in the downstairs office. The books there are duplicates that you can buy at bargain rates: any hard cover book for $3, any paper back for $1.
Chief Bookworm
Greetings from the Bookworm!
An important agenda for any librarian is to spread the perversion of bibliophelia. Consequently, I am happy to report that over half of the original stock of Bargain Books has been snatched up. Happily they have been replaced with other equally effective sources of contagion. Take a chance and indulge your lust.
-Al Burstein, Chief Bookworm.
